Pigtown Fling will be playing in The Puffer Bar, Easdale Island, Oban, Argyll, Scotland on Saturday 13th June 2009 to help celebrate one year under new ownership. This will be a particularly emotional gig for Stephen as he was, for over 10 years, the previous owner of The Puffer. Please come along and join the party!

On Thursday May 14th 2009 Pigtown Fling played on board a 107 year old Fife herring drifter which was moored in Oban Bay, Argyll, Scotland.

Reaper is a floating museum with displays on Scotland’s long gone herring industry, the boats that fished for ‘the silver darlings’ and the men and women who kept the industry going.
The boat, crewed entirely by volunteers, is touring the west coast of scotland stopping of at many ports to allow visits from school children and the general public.
A civic reception was held on board on Thursday evening and Pigtown Fling provided the music.

We had a lovely evening and would like to thank the crew for looking after us so well… they even gave us a tea-towel!

Reaper, Oban (old fishing boat)

Pigtown Fling will be playing on Reaper, a Fifie sailing herring drifter dating from 1902, on Thursday 14th May, 2009 in Oban, Argyll, Scotland. The boat is undertaking a tour of the West Highlands to allow schools and the public to visit it an learn about it’s history and the history of th eherring fleet in Scotland.

I’ve been playing the tune i posted yesterday for a day now. The more i play it the more I love it! As with most tunes it has started to change to suit my fingers so here is an updated version which is closer to the way I am now playing it.
